Yesterday, The Washington Post featured North Carolina’s Senate race and Cheri’s historic candidacy.

The headline said: "North Carolina Democratic voters yearn for a new type of Senate candidate after years of defeats."

Then the article went on to say: " Beasley is a different kind of candidate — an African American woman and veteran judge who has previously run three statewide campaigns."

That is exactly right. The same type of candidates have failed Democrats in North Carolina too many times.

But we’ve seen that Democrats can win statewide here — Cheri’s even done it twice! She is our best chance to break the mold and flip this seat.
