Folks, this victory started with you. Thanks to the support of this amazing grassroots team, we have been able to put pressure on the new Democratic majorities in Washington.
And after promising to secure a pathway to citizenship, Democrats listened to our demands by including undocumented people in a reconciliation bill — without waiting on Republicans who have expressed no intentions of delivering for our communities.
We called for a pathway to citizenship through reconciliation, and now Senate Democrats have announced it will be included in the next budget reconciliation package which only needs a 50-vote majority to pass.
Now, we need to ensure undocumented people remain part of the conversation as budget debates pick up, and that we are included in the final bill that passes.
