John — Earlier this year, I privately filed suit against Mo Brooks and several others for their roles in inciting the January 6 insurrection. A lot has happened since then, so I wanted to give you an update.

I filed suit because Mo Brooks told a crowd of Trump supporters that January 6 was the day for “American patriots to start taking names and kicking ass.” Shortly after, this very same crowd stormed the Capitol looking for vengeance.

Mo spent months dodging me and my team as we tried to locate him and serve him this lawsuit.

When he finally did respond, he refused to take blame for his actions … saying he was simply performing within the “scope of his employment” as a U.S. Representative. Mo even lied in his court filings that Donald Trump was the true winner of the election because he believes there was widespread voter fraud like never before.

Now the General Counsel for the House of Representatives has to weigh in and confirm if Mo was acting in his scope of work as a Member of Congress.

All the lies and dodging on the GOP’s part has been exhausting — but I’m not giving up this fight.

No matter how many lies Mo tells or how many threats he fires my way, I’ll continue my fight to hold him and the rest of the GOP accountable for what happened on January 6.
