John- Remember that email I sent you yesterday? About the Texas House Democrats fleeing on a private jet to DC to hang out with Pelosi and effectively block debate on Texas election security reforms. Here's my response to their claims. This is the most important email you'll read all week. Please SHARE and help me get the truth out there. DONATE NOW TO SHARE THE TRUTH Democrats are lying (again) about “voter suppression” in the Texas reforms. Biden (again) called them “Jim Crow” laws. So, does anything in these bills amount to “voter suppression?” Of course not. Here’s what the bills do: 1. Bans paid ballot harvesting, the practice of gathering and submitting complete absentee or mail-in voter ballots by third-party individuals, volunteers or party workers, rather than submission by voters themselves directly to ballot collection sites. 2. Requires voter ID verification for mail-in ballots in line with in-person voting. Voters can also provide the last 4 digits of their social security number if they don’t have a driver’s license. 80% of Americans support voter ID laws. [link removed] And for those on the left who say that these requirements “suppress minority votes,” the data doesn’t back that up. Voter ID has “no negative effect on registration or turnout, overall or for any group defined by race, gender, age, or party affiliation.” [link removed] 3. Sets uniform voting times for early voting to reduce confusion while expanding hours on the weekend. This fixes the different voting times in different counties that confused voters. 4. Ensures accountability at the polls by allowing poll watchers to observe election workers, improving transparency and confidence in the results. 5. Strengthens the ban on unmanned mail-in drop boxes and prohibits unsolicited distribution of mail-in ballot applications by public officials. 6. Sets uniform procedures for verifying the authenticity of mail-in ballots while also giving voters the chance to correct mistakes if they are discovered. 7. Requires those assisting voters with filling out their ballots to complete a form verifying their identity and to take an oath stating that they will not try to influence a voter one way or another. 8. Ends the temporary, emergency measures that were put in place solely because of the pandemic like drive-thru voting and 24-hour early voting. These options never existed before the pandemic, even though Democrats want you to believe we are ending a long-standing practice. 9. Does any of this amount to voter suppression? Or “Jim Crow” laws, which explicitly suppressed voters with poll taxes, literacy tests, and grandfather clauses? Not even close. And BTW, Texas STILL has more opportunities to vote than Joe Biden’s home state. So, why are Democrats lying so blatantly about these bills? Because they want to pass H.R. 1, which would prevent virtually any election security measures at the state level. It would also mandate taxpayer-funded campaign contributions and political ads for federal candidates. And the reason they want to pass these insane policies so badly? Just ask Nancy Pelosi (hint.. because Democrats think it will help them win elections): [link removed] We can't let Pelosi and the radical left get away with this.
