With so many candidates competing for attention, it can be hard to know where your donation will actually make a difference. Our political team has done the research by looking at decades of voting history, analyzing the candidates, and charting out different scenarios so that your donation will go where it’s needed most.
Today, your donation to our Senate fund will support Democratic candidates in five target races in 2022:
- Arizona | Sen. Mark Kelly: Senator Kelly won his seat in 2020’s special election by just 2.4%. Arizona is slowly shifting from red to blue, but Sen. Kelly still faces one of the toughest reelection races in the country, especially in a midterm year.
- Georgia | Sen. Raphael Warnock: Senator Warnock won his 2021 runoff election by just 2.0%. Georgia will likely be at the center of the political universe again in 2022 and protecting Sen. Warnock against an emboldened Georgia GOP will be critical.
- North Carolina | Eventual Democratic nominee: The retirement of Sen. Richard Burr (R) gives Democrats just the opportunity they need to flip a seat in North Carolina. The last three presidential and Senate races were decided by an average of just 2.3% and 3.0%, respectively.
- Pennsylvania | Eventual Democratic nominee: Sen. Pat Toomey (R) is also not seeking reelection, so Democrats have an incredible opportunity to expand their majority in an open race in a state President Biden won in 2020.
- Wisconsin | Eventual Democratic nominee: A Trump loyalist, Sen. Ron Johnson (R) is a uniquely vulnerable incumbent in a state that narrowly voted for President Biden in 2020. Defeating Johnson will be critical to expanding the majority and stopping one of the loudest proponents of “Trumpism”.
We’re also monitoring races in Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, and Ohio, and will expand our target list if conditions change on the ground. We target races based on a number of factors, including but not limited to how the state has voted in previous statewide elections, how the state has shifted in recent cycles, and the relative strength of the incumbent. We’ll be making regular updates to ensure donations are going where they’ll make the biggest impact—and we’ll make sure you’re the first to hear about it.
Will you donate today to help Democrats protect and expand the Senate majority in 2022?
