John–
ONE WEEKEND IN AMERICA:
* At least three people shot and killed and three others wounded in
Brooklyn, NY.
* Two people shot and wounded at a wedding in a Pelham, NH church.
* A woman shot and killed in her own home by a police officer in Fort
Worth, TX.
* Five people shot and killed in a Chicago, IL condo complex, including
four people who were eating dinner together.
* An active shooter scare at a mall in Boca Raton, FL.
* Six people shot and wounded in Philadelphia, PA, including a teenager.
And then there was a doctored, graphic video shown at a Trump political
event at the President's resort last week, showing him carrying out a mass
shooting in a church, massacring the press and his critics.
The fight to end gun violence is far from over, and this weekend was a
brutal reminder of that fact. [ [link removed] ]Go to a Moms Demand Action event and join

Right now, you can join other passionate volunteers to demand action to
end this crisis. In the face of yet another weekend of gun violence, yet
another weekend of people shot and killed, and yet another weekend of
lives forever changed, [ [link removed] ]the time to act is now.
We saw the exact opposite of that resolve at a Trump political event in
Miami last week. A doctored video was shown depicting the President
carrying out a mass shooting in a church. He is seen in the meme video
graphically shooting and assaulting the press and his critics, including
depictions of news organizations such as NPR and CNN, the late Senator
John McCain, President Barack Obama, and Black Lives Matter. To be
absolutely clear: showing this video was utterly irresponsible and
dangerous.
This weekend was filled with tragedies for communities across the country;
the video shown at the Trump event was a gross insult to everyone living
that reality. America's gun violence crisis must be taken seriously. It
requires swift, research-based action, and anything short of that is
unacceptable.
That's why we want you to join us. We need to show that the words are not
enough. When Trump, politicians, and other gun lobby allies simply condemn
gun violence and the rhetoric that encourages it, that is not enough. We
need action. No excuses.
