“…bullies and merchants of fear, peddlers of lies are threatening the very foundation of our country.”

Yesterday, President Biden spoke to the nation about the ongoing Republican assault on voting rights and our democratic process — calling it “the most significant test of our democracy since the Civil War.”

He is right: the Republican assault on the right to vote and the legitimacy of our elections is unprecedented — and dangerous.

Just days ago Texas Democratic lawmakers fled their state in order to prevent the Republican-led legislature from securing the quorum needed to pass their abhorrent voter suppression bill.

The bottomline is: Elections are about addition, not subtraction! Mitch McConnell and his Republican allies cannot be permitted to undermine the legitimacy of our democracy by making it more difficult for some Americans to vote.

That’s why I am committed to doing everything in my power to END THE FILIBUSTER and pass the For The People Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Act .

The truth is — this won’t be easy. We need all hands on deck to win this fight. Can you pitch in $7 or whatever you can to help us build the momentum to get this done?
