John,

Two weeks ago, a federal court threw out Ajit Pai's ban on state-level net neutrality protections.

Now, just as we predicted, lobbyists for Comcast and AT&T are swarming Capitol Hill, pushing for new legislation to block state action and to kill net neutrality once and for all.

And guess who's leading the charge to write their bill? Kyrsten Sinema, the only Democrat in the entire Senate who hasn't cosponsored the current bill to restore net neutrality.

We simply can't afford to have Democrats teaming up with Big Cable to kill net neutrality. So earlier this year, we put up a huge billboard calling her out at one of the busiest intersections in Phoenix.

Will you donate to help keep up the pressure and demand that Senator Sinema stop her attempts to kill off net neutrality forever?

DONATE

As soon as the federal court ruled that Ajit Pai could not block states from enacting their own net neutrality laws, Sen. Sinema and Comcast's favorite Republican, Senator Roger Wicker, put out a statement calling for new legislation on net neutrality that threatens state net neutrality protections.

It's obvious why Sen. Sinema is carrying water for Big Cable. It's not because her constituents hate the internet. Eight in 10 voters across party lines support net neutrality, and she supported net neutrality when she first ran for Congress.

But then she got more than $134,000 from Big Cable, and now she's in their pockets.1

She's now facing a serious backlash. Her home state media has run headlines calling her “corrupt,” and Arizona Democrats are calling on her to to be censured for voting against her constituent's interests.2

If states have the power to pass net neutrality, we can push forward the protections we need. In fact, California has already passed a gold-standard bill that protects net neutrality.3 If enough states take similar action, nationwide net neutrality will become the default.

Here's the challenge: running a state-by-state campaign will require us to hire local organizers, run ads in dozens of media markets, and expand our organizing into communities where we've never had a strong presence. After the new year, bills will be moving simultaneously in several states all at once, and the ISPs will work to block us everywhere.

Will you donate to back our state-by-state campaign to save net neutrality?

For the Internet,

Evan at Fight for the Future
