John,
Just last week, Toyota announced that they would stop giving to the members of Congress who rejected the 2020 election results, after CREW exposed their donations and led a social media campaign demanding they reverse course.
While CREW doesn’t get results like that every day, we do win a lot—and that’s because we’re constantly at work, taking legal action, filing FOIA requests, conducting research, and calling attention to ethics violations, corruption and abuses of power.
If you want to help us continue to get wins like this, I hope you’ll consider donating to our July matching challenge. A generous supporter is matching all donations, up to $75,000—we’re off to a strong start, and your donation will help us get even closer to our goal.
In my first email about this month’s fundraising challenge, I told you about our campaign against Toyota. Now I’m here to tell you that it’s not over. We’re calling for boycotts of the companies like Cigna, Walmart, JetBlue, CVS and many others that continue to fund the members of Congress who voted to overturn the election results. We’ll continue to call them out and demand they change course until it happens.
That’s just one of the reasons we have big wins—on dark money, uncovering wrongdoing, campaign finance violations, accountability for abuses of power and more. Because we keep up the fight until we win.
But keeping up the fight isn’t always easy. If you want to make sure CREW can continue pushing for democracy, accountability, and transparency for as long as it takes, please consider making a matched donation now.
Thank you—we couldn’t do this work without you.
Noah Bookbinder
President, CREW
