Being in the minority party is often frustrating -- but I managed to pass several important bills in my first year by finding ways to work together on crucial issues impacting everyday Floridians.
The NICA bill was one of my proudest moments from this past session. I saw an injustice, an opportunity, and I committed to making it right.
On the initial vote, I lost 119-1. I was the only voice of dissent, fighting for retroactive benefits that would allow currently enrolled families to benefit from our program changes. The next day, with my amendments, Rep. Koster and I passed the bill unanimously.
Delivering results for Floridians is what I'm here to do, and I'm proud to do it.
Thank you for your continued support,
