BJS and NCES release?Report on Indicators of School Crime and Safety: 2020

This is the 23rd edition of the Report on Indicators of School Crime and Safety, a joint publication of the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS) and the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES). It provides official estimates of school crime and safety from a variety of data sources, including national surveys of students, teachers, principals, and post-secondary institutions. Indicator 2, Incidence of Victimization at School and Away From School, includes data from BJS?s National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS).

Data sources include the NCVS, the School Crime Supplement to the NCVS, the School-Associated Violent Death Surveillance System, the School Survey on Crime and Safety, the Schools and Staffing Survey, the Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System, and the Campus Safety and Security Survey.
