** Assemblyman Kevin Kiley to speak at HJTA's "Reinstate 58" webinar on Wednesday
------------------------------------------------------------

Assemblyman Kevin Kiley will be a special guest speaker at the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association’s online webinar to discuss the ongoing efforts to reverse the property tax increase that was a little-known part of Proposition 19. The webinar, which will take place Wednesday, July 14, at 10:00 a.m., may be viewed live at these links:

Prop. 19, which passed narrowly in November, repealed Proposition 58 (1986), a state constitutional amendment that for more than thirty years has enabled parents to transfer their home and certain other property to their children without reassessment.

Kiley is the author of Assembly Constitutional Amendment 9, which would reinstate Proposition 58, once again allowing parents to transfer a home and up to $1 million of assessed value of other property, such as a small business, to the next generation without triggering reassessment to market value, and much higher property taxes.

Also speaking at the webinar will be Robert Rivinius, executive director of the Family Business Association of California.
