Hello Colorado Republicans,
A big shout out to Las Animas County GOP for hosting the biggest Republican event ever in Trinidad last Saturday! It was great to be there in person and meet their County Assessor who has recently switched parties from Democrat to Republican.
If you are passionate about election integrity, there is a bootcamp coming up on July 19th at 7pm. Email
[email protected] (mailto:
[email protected]) if you'd like to attend.
On July 14th, the Colorado Women's Alliance is highlighting several elected Republican women in their "A Woman's Life in Public Office" series. You can listen in to this free event by signing up
here ([link removed]) .
I'd like to congratulate our wonderful Secretary Marilyn Harris for her nomination to become the Secretary of the National Federation of Republican Women. We love you, Marilyn!
Finally, local elections are coming up fast. You can still run for office for your local school board or city council. And, you can support the Republicans already running. Don't hesitate to contact us if you need to get plugged in with your local candidates.
Thank you!
Kristi Burton Brown

** Colorado GOP argues change to election committee meeting rule would impede transparency
------------------------------------------------------------

Grand Junction Sentinel: ([link removed]) The Colorado Republican Party took issue with the proposed rule change in a statement Monday.
“At a time when we need to be building up transparency and trust in our elections, Jena Griswold is changing rules to limit bipartisan input,” Colorado GOP Chairwoman Kristi Burton Brown said in a statement. “She has now unilaterally decided that the Bipartisan Election [Advisory] Committee will meet only if she says so.”
“All Coloradans, regardless of their political party, need to have faith in our electoral system,” Burton Brown added. “By limiting bipartisan feedback on our elections, Jena Griswold has undermined that trust and contributed to increasing partisanship in Colorado.”

Tax refunds for Coloradans? Not if Democrats can help it.
[link removed]
Denver Post: Coloradans are projected to receive billions in tax refunds ([link removed]) by 2023, but statehouse Democrats would rather they don’t.
The majority party wants to spend the money on infrastructure projects at public universities and prisons, on roads and in education — even though the state budget is relatively flush and Colorado is receiving $3.8 billion ([link removed]) in federal stimulus funding.
Doing this will require working around the Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights, which is sure to bring pushback from Republicans. And, with 2022 elections just around the corner, voters may not like it either (in 2019, they rejected ([link removed]) a Democratic ballot measure to let the state government keep TABOR refund money).
