John,

Earlier today, President Biden gave a speech about the urgent need to pass the For the People Act. But he didn’t do anything at all to pressure Congress to pass the Act: No deadline. No action.

Biden needs to hear from Americans right now telling him his empty words weren’t enough – we demand real action.

Will you tweet at the President right now to demand he give the Senate a deadline to pass the For the People Act?

Not only were Biden’s words toothless, but he passed the buck to us. He asked for a coalition to come together in support of the Act – as though we haven’t been here all along, holding the Senate’s feet to the fire. While we've been generating thousands of phone calls to the Senate, Biden has done virtually nothing.

President Biden can’t pass the Act on his own, but he can do a number of things to pressure Congress, from pushing for filibuster reform, to giving Congress a deadline, to meeting with Senator Manchin.

Biden just gave this speech, and he’s hoping that the American public was satisfied. Tweeting at him is a public way to show Biden, his administration, and the entire world that the American people aren’t satisfied with empty promises.

Will you tweet at President Biden right now asking him to stand with our coalition across the country, meet the moment, and do whatever it takes to pass the For the People Act?

Lofty words about democracy reform aren’t going to cut it. It’s time for the President to put his money where his mouth is and go all in on passing this bill.

Thank you,

Jen
