I wanted to thank everyone who responded to our summer survey. I’m incredibly grateful that so many supporters took precious time out of their day to share their priorities with me and the rest of the team.
As I expected, everyone had a lot to say! But the overall message is clear: We can’t wait any longer for bold and transformative change.
I am doing everything in my power to ensure that Congress puts working people first, starting with an infrastructure, jobs, and families plan that meets the scale of the crises we face. But I need to know you’re with me in this fight. Can you chip in $3 today to power our people-first movement forward? My team tells me that we need 250 contributions by 11:59pm on Thursday to keep our fundraising momentum on track.
Chip in $3
I learned a lot more about what you want Congress to prioritize in the coming weeks and months! I love diving into the numbers, so here are a few that stood out to me:
- A whopping 98% of survey respondents are fired up about ending the filibuster. It's clear that if we have any hope of delivering the bold and meaningful reforms that our communities need, the filibuster must GO.
- Not far behind, 92% of respondents said they are ready to raise the minimum wage to at least $15/hour. $7.25/hour is NOT a living wage and I won’t stop fighting until we get every worker the raise they deserve.
- And in third, 89% of respondents want bold action on climate. From record heat and wildfires in the West to heavy rain and flooding in the Midwest and East just in the last month, we’re running out of time to fight climate change. That’s why I’m pushing on Congressional leadership to prioritize climate in the infrastructure bill.
These results remind me why I got into this fight. And I won’t slow down until our policies answer the needs of working families — not the wealthy and well-connected. Chip in $3 or more today toward our mid-month goal of 250 contributions to support our movement for real change.
In solidarity,
Pramila
