John,
I can’t believe in 2021 I’m still needing to write an email about this, but nationwide, there’s a growing wave of anti-choice legislation threatening our right to make decisions about our own bodies.
As a proud mother of two daughters, and as someone who had the freedom to make the right choice for me when faced with an unplanned pregnancy in my senior year of college, I want to make sure everyone else has that same chance.
We can never return to a time when a pregnant person does not have decision-making power over their own body. People must have full, unencumbered reproductive freedom -- anything less is un-American and unacceptable.
Unfortunately, since the start of the year, state legislators across the country have introduced 561 abortion restrictions, including 165 abortion bans. Here in New York, we’re fortunate to have representation that values and defends reproductive rights, but there is a growing national threat on the right to choose.
The Supreme Court is controlled by conservative judges, some of whom are adamantly "pro-life" -- if any of these 500+ bills are reviewed by the court through a challenge… we could lose Roe v. Wade.
I’ve been a life long believer in the right to choose, and I will continue being a tireless advocate for reproductive freedom in Congress. Add your name alongside mine right now to make our voices loud and clear.

Sadly, it’s not a matter of if the Supreme Court decides to review a case on abortion as much as it’s a matter of when.
With several hundred anti-choice bills being introduced in the last 7 months alone, there is serious danger of having our rights limited or taken away completely.
I won’t sit by and let that happen -- every single one of us has the right to determine our own reproductive destiny. The government has no place legislating our bodies. Listen, John, reproductive health care decisions should be made in doctors’ offices, not legislative chambers.
Add your name alongside mine and let’s make sure everyone knows that we are ready to fight for our right to have autonomy over our bodies.
