The pandemic has hit families hard. It’s one of the reasons I really hate to ask for money.

That’s why recently, my team asked some folks in this community why they hadn’t donated to our campaign yet. If someone is struggling to get by, I want to make sure they’re prioritizing putting food on the table.

188 people told us that they’d like to donate to our campaign but they just can’t swing it right now. That’s why I’m coming to you. While I don’t need you to make up 188 donations, I’m hoping that you can give now so that grassroots supporters who have fallen on hard times don’t have to worry about it.

I'll say it again: I hate to ask you for money, especially since you’ve already been so generous. But my race was the closest one of 2016, and Republicans only need to flip ONE seat to take back the majority. There is simply too much at stake for me not to ask.
