Virginia’s gubernatorial nominee is deceiving voters on abortion rights.
Friend, Virginia Republicans have a new trick up their sleeve: Deceive during the campaign, and then gut our rights once they’re in office. As a voter who has lived in the Commonwealth for most of my life, this is despicable and completely unacceptable to me.
I’m talking about Glenn Youngkin, the GOP’s gubernatorial nominee. Last week, it came out that he’s hiding his anti-choice position while privately vowing to go “on offense” once in office. And if the Virginia GOP’s tactics work, it could have life-threatening consequences for Virginians and people all across our country.
This is why we need an absolute champion for reproductive rights in the Attorney General’s office – a champion like Mark Herring. AG Herring is a progressive leader who has fought for our reproductive freedoms in the Supreme Court and won’t hesitate to take action against far-right extremists who are doing everything they can to roll back the rights and bodily autonomy of women, transgender men, and non-binary individuals.
The truth is, friend, abortion rights are under attack across the country, and Democratic Attorneys General are our first and best defense. But we need your help to elect progressive, pro-choice champions in Virginia and beyond.
DAGA was the first national committee to only support candidates who will fight for and protect abortion access, and that’s resulted in an unmatched bench of pro-choice leaders who we can count on to protect our rights and advance reproductive justice in America.
Dem AGs know that reproductive freedom means access to critical health care for millions of people in our communities – and that any attempt to overturn access is especially dangerous for BIPOC and low-income individuals. That’s why they’re so ferociously committed to defeating these attacks against it.
Thank you for being in this with us. We couldn’t do it without you.
