One of our overarching goals as
an organization has always been to bring the Muslim community in the U.S. together. We’re much stronger when we work together, using our varied backgrounds, experiences and skills to combat what are often complicated and difficult issues.
In March, 2014, ten major national American Muslim Organizations came together to form the U.S. Council of Muslim Organizations (USCMO), an umbrella group that serves as a representative voice for Muslims, with the expressed purpose of creating a faith community that seeks to enhance its positive impact on society.
USCMO’s stated mission is “to open
effective communication and coordination spectrums between all American Muslim organizations, help solidify these mutually crucial relationships, and create and sustain an urgent, collective sense of direction.”
