I’m proud to have voted for the INVEST in America Act, a bipartisan bill that will rebuild infrastructure across the country and lay the groundwork for a sustainable, equitable future.

The INVEST Act tackles the challenges facing our current infrastructure needs head on and includes:

• Over $51 million for Nevada projects, including funding for interstates, a high-speed rail, and Amtrak
• Expanded resources for reducing carbon pollution
• A program aimed at achieving racial equity by modifying bridges that separate communities of color from the rest of their cities
• Improvements that target making infrastructure resistant to extreme weather events

Strengthening our infrastructure is a top priority for me, and I know that it’s a top priority for Nevadans.

Nevada needs an infrastructure plan that does more than just patch up roads -- this year we’ve dealt with record-breaking temperatures, extreme drought, and low water levels in Lake Mead. That's why I added an amendment to this bill that ensures future infrastructure investments can withstand the effects of climate change.
