www.inequalitymedia.org [www.inequalitymedia.org]Dear John,
The Supreme Court wrapped up its term this month, and its last decisions were disastrous. On voting rights, campaign finance, labor, and corporate liability, the Court is running far to the right.
Trump may be gone, but his destruction continues — and that’s why reforming the Supreme Court is critical.
You’ve probably heard Republicans decry Democrats as “radical court-packers,” “power hungry,” and so on. It’s pure rubbish.
Representative Mondaire Jones is a co-sponsor of legislation that would expand the size of the Supreme Court. He joined me in our latest video to help explain why doing so is not radical at all. [[link removed]]

Since 1969, Democratic presidents have appointed 4 Supreme Court justices, while Republicans have appointed 16 (5 of them by presidents who lost the popular vote). McConnell refused to even hold a hearing on Obama's nominee, and now says he’ll block Biden from filling a Supreme Court vacancy in 2024.
So don’t listen to the GOP’s phony complaints about court packing.
Expanding the Supreme Court to make it more representative is not radical — it’s essential.
What’s really radical is allowing Republicans to continue to exploit the system and rig the courts in their favor.
Thanks for watching,
Robert Reich
