Mayor LaToya Cantrell Has Raised Over $1.6M From 1,100 Contributions

In 2020, Mayor LaToya Cantrell focused her fundraising efforts on her nonprofit, Forward Together New Orleans, to raise millions of dollars for New Orleanians who were struggling due to the pandemic. Now, she is turning her focus to re-election so she can ensure a smooth economic recovery and reach public safety goals over the next four years.

A finance report for the April 3 - July 1, 2021 period was filed on July 12th showing the campaign raised $409,271.50 — nearly double what it raised the previous three months (Jan 1 - Apr 2), and from over three times as many contributors.

"The momentum from Mayor Cantrell's longtime grassroots network continues to grow with 55% of all contributions this period coming in at $250 or under, and more than 80% came from individuals. The most frequent contribution amount this period was $25," said Drew Prestridge, Finance Director. "A strong majority (59%) of all contributions this period are from New Orleans, and 83% are from within Louisiana."

Since late 2017, Mayor LaToya Cantrell has now raised a total of $1,634,448.42 from 1,138 contributions for her re-election campaign, with $682,363.41 on hand as the campaign and fundraising shift into high gear, already showing an extraordinary amount of strength and support.

"Keeping an active campaign going since 2018 has put us in a strong position thus far, so Mayor Cantrell can run against the status quo and the challenges our city faces coming out of the pandemic: public safety, infrastructure, and equity," said Maggie Carroll, Campaign Manager.
