The Bureau of Justice Statistics encourages comments for 60 days until September 13, 2021?on the proposed extension of a currently approved data collection: National Corrections Reporting Program (NCRP). Your comments on BJS?s request to the Office of Management and Budget, which is published in the?"Federal Register [ [link removed] ]", should address such points as?
* whether the proposed data collection is necessary, including whether the information will have practical utility
* the accuracy of the agency?s estimate of the burden of the proposed collection of data, including the validity of the methodology and assumptions
* whether and how the quality, utility, and clarity of the information to be collected can be enhanced
* minimizing the burden of the data collection on respondents, including through the use of appropriate automated, electronic, mechanical, or other technological collection techniques.
The NCRP [ [link removed] ] collects offender-level administrative data annually on state prison admissions and releases, year-end custody populations, and parole entries and discharges in participating jurisdictions.
