In their latest attempt to ram through voter suppression laws thinly disguised as election reform, Republican lawmakers in the Texas State House were forced to admit that they have zero evidence to back up their spurious claims of election fraud.
We're not shocked, John. We already knew that "election fraud" was an egregious lie made up by insurrectionist-in-chief Donald Trump, parroted by GOP lawmakers in their attempt to undermine Joe Biden's rightful victory and disenfranchise people of color and senior citizens who rely on mail-in voting.
And here's the really scary part. With five more seats, the Republicans could have pushed it even further on January 6. One GOP representative photographed barricading doors from the seditionists is now brazenly lying, claiming it was just a "normal tourist visit."
Of course House Republican leaders are totally fine turbocharging these lies, big and small. Anything to seize power.
