It was the latest in a pattern of gender discrimination issues we’ve seen in college sports — and it’s time we put an end to it. That’s why my Oversight colleagues and I are calling on NCAA President Mark Emmert to release information on these issues to the public.

We deserve to know how the NCAA let this discriminatory behavior happen — and what they’re doing to prevent it in the future. Do you agree? Click here to add your name→ [[link removed]]

As Chair of the House Oversight Committee, it’s my job to investigate issues like this — and as an advocate for equality throughout my entire career, I’m so frustrated that a powerful organization like the NCAA lets things like this happen.

And really, it’s a matter of setting the tone for the future. If our kids and student athletes are taught that it’s okay to treat people unfairly on the court because of their gender, what message does that send about equality in the workplace? It’s time to set a positive example for a change.

These issues are interconnected, John — and that’s why I’m asking for your support. Will you click here to join me in supporting our investigation into gender equality in college sports? [[link removed]]

Carolyn Maloney
