We can’t let the separation of church and state fall on our watch.  ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌        ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌        ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌        ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌        ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌        ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌

In recent years, the U.S. Supreme Court has issued a lot of opinions impacting religious freedom. They range from forcing taxpayers to fund private religious schools to allowing discrimination against same-sex couples in our foster care system.

Many of these decisions were narrow and chipped away at the separation of church and state only a little—but what does the picture look like when they’re all taken together?

In a word: Destructive. As these bad decisions pile up, it becomes harder and harder to maintain the proper wall of separation between religion and government.

We have much work to do—in the courts, in the legislatures and in the public square—but we know that we are on the right side of history because we are fighting for freedom without favor and equality without exception. That’s why your commitment to AU’s unique mission is so important.

We’re looking for 50 generous supporters to donate $50 or more by the end of the week to help us strengthen the separation of church and state. Will you be one of them?

This problem isn’t going away on its own. The Supreme Court recently announced that it will hear at least one major religious-freedom case next term, with the potential to open the floodgates to taxpayer-funded religious instruction.

We can’t afford to let the wall of separation between church and state fall on our watch. It would be a dream come true for religious extremists and their lawmaker allies.

Please click here to donate $50 to aid our urgent defense of church-state separation.

Thanks for all you do to support our work.
