Being poor is more expensive than being rich in America. We hate to say it John, but it’s true.

Low-income Americans and those living well below the poverty line often struggle with problems that middle-income Americans rarely see. This becomes even more apparent when devastating weather events occur like the ongoing and historic heath wave that is ripping through the country.

Pitch in right now to keep fighters like Hank in Washington that know the importance of tackling our climate crisis.

The most recent heat wave has brought temperatures above 100 degrees, disproportionately affecting low-income families, our seniors, our communities of color and the intersections between these groups. Climate change has never just been an environmental issue. Climate change is also a racial justice issue, a wealth-equity issue, a healthcare issue, and an issue that impacts our economy as well as our climate.

Democrats in Washington are working on creating policies that will work to undo the negative effects of climate change on vulnerable communities. We cannot keep up this fight alone, there are big money interests who are hard at work to roll back environmental regulations at our expense. Loosening environmental protections does nothing but bankroll the fossil fuel industry on the credit card of everyday Americans

Help us keep the fat cats in check and our environment safe. Pitch in to keep Hank in Washington fighting against fossil fuels and working to protect our environment.
