The pandemic has disrupted the operations and finances of colleges across the nation, but as communities of color have been most impacted by COVID-19, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) face significant challenges. Historically and currently, HBCUs have served not only students’ academic needs, but also their social-emotional and health needs through comprehensive culturally-based wraparound services. This role has been especially crucial during the pandemic, as institutions work to ensure that students are safe, healthy, and connected to resources and support. In this webinar, HBCU leaders and alumni will discuss the crucial role of HBCUs in supporting the Black community as a whole and the impact of COVID-19 on the future of HBCUs.
