offers Federal Reserve recommendations on account, payment service access
NAFCU Senior Counsel for Research and Policy Andrew Morris Monday wrote to the
Federal Reserve to offer the association's concerns and recommendations regarding
a set of proposed guidelines the Federal Reserve Banks will use when evaluating
requests for accounts and payments services.

Ahead of a House Small Business subcommittee hearing examining the role of small
businesses and entrepreneurship in rural recovery, NAFCU Vice President of Legislative
Affairs Brad Thaler detailed how credit unions have long been a critical provider
of financial services for rural and underserved areas and urged members of the
subcommittee to consider allowing all types of credit union charters to add underserved areas to their fields of membership.
