Our forests are burning, our lakes are drying up, our oceans are on fire. These issues are interconnected to rapid climate change and are already impacting our way of life.
John,
You may have seen that an ignited gas leak off the coast of Mexico caused an “eye of fire” on the ocean surface. The images circulating social media last week were petrifying to see for anyone concerned about the environment.
The accident was just the most recent example of major industrial accidents caused by pipelines around the world. The U.S. The Department of Energy estimates that 1.3 million gallons of oil are spilled into U.S. water alone every year.
This leak illustrates further that we need to limit offshore drilling and transition away from fossil fuels.
Our forests are burning, our lakes are drying up, our oceans are on fire. These issues are interconnected to rapid climate change and are already impacting our way of life.
A “business as usual” approach that continues our reliance on fossil fuels will only make things worse. Instead of drilling that harms our environment and our climate, we must turn to renewable energy resources and zero-emission technologies.
Thanks to your help in 2020, SEEC PAC was able to re-elect over 95% of our pro-environment members to the U.S. House of Representatives — defying the odds on a night where Democrats lost seats. Now we are counting on you to help our SEEC members pass climate, clean energy and environmental justice policies in the 117th Congress while we undo the damage of the Trump Administration. But if you'd like to receive fewer emails, we understand. You can click here to only get our most important messages, or you can unsubscribe.
