Friends,

I hope you’re enjoying your summer—and the heat! We’ve spent a little time with friends and family, a little time at the pool, and a lot of time planning some awesome climate events for late summer and fall.

Here are two events to put on your calendars now:

Virginia Fossil Fuel Projects Info Session

July 23, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Woodrow Wilson Library, 6101 Knollwood Drive, Falls Church, VA

Despite the current climate crisis, more and more fossil fuel projects are being permitted or proposed in Virginia. Two new pipelines, for example, are being proposed in Northern Virginia and close to the North Carolina border. That's on top of continuing plans to build out the Atlantic Coast and Mountain Valley Pipelines. Come learn from Food & Water Watch about the many dirty energy projects proposed for our state and explore ways we can collaborate on stopping them. RSVP here.

350 Fairfax August General Meeting

August 1, 7:30 to 9 p.m., Blueberry Hill Common House, 9701 Farmside Place, Vienna, VA

At our August meeting, we’ll be planning for the September 20 #ClimateStrike and Global Week of Action. Wendy Gao, DC coordinator for Earth Uprising, will be on hand to talk about the big youth-led action planned for DC, and we will brainstorm possible local actions for the following week. RSVP here or on Facebook.

See you soon!

Julie
