Good evening john,

Today, the government has announced that we will move to the next stage of easing coronavirus restrictions - Step 4.

You can find out more about what this means by clicking HERE ([link removed]) .

However, it is still vital that everyone remembers to get vaccinated with both doses, and on Friday I visited the Hexham Mart Vaccination centre to see the great work of the staff who have rolled out the vaccine to huge numbers across our community.

As ever, if you have an issue you would like to raise with me as your local Member of Parliament, please email: [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) .

Ensuring children get the best education across Tynedale

I visited Haydon Bridge High School to meet new Principal Michael Smith, and see the £4.5m refurbishment of the school.

Just a few years ago, the school had been considered not viable due to low student numbers, but thanks to the hard work and dedication of local teachers, and investment from Northumberland County Council, school numbers have improved year on year.

The school now also offers vocational courses such as catering, engineering, construction, hairdressing or beauty, and students can make use of professional facilities created for these courses.

Michael and I discussed how the school can go even further in the coming years to provide the very best for pupils, teachers and parents in Tynedale.

Employers - come along to my 2021 Jobs Fair!

My annual Jobs Fair is a fantastic opportunity for local employers from across North East to showcase their businesses to potential employees from across Tynedale.

We previously held the Tynedale Jobs Fair annually, but last year’s event was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Thanks to the success of the vaccination programme, and as restrictions ease, the Jobs Fair will take place on 22^nd October at the Wentworth Leisure Centre in Hexham.
I am encouraging employers to sign up for a free stall at the Jobs Fair using the link below.

The Coronavirus pandemic has been extremely difficult for people and businesses across Tynedale. This year’s Jobs Fair will be a brilliant opportunity to showcase new opportunities as we begin our recovery.

** Grab a jab!

------------------------------------------------------------

The national rollout of coronavirus vaccines has been a tremendous success. Uptake in Tynedale and Ponteland has been one of the highest in the entire country.

On Friday, I visited the vaccination centre at the Mart in Hexham. The dedicated staff and volunteers have done a fantastic job. Jab by jab we are protecting ourselves and our loved ones. The centre is open for walk-in appointments, so please if you are over 18 get the jab.
The team, including the matron Gareth are onsite to give any advice and information to those who feel unsure or hesitant about the vaccine.

The centre is open from 8.15am in the morning to 7.25pm in the evening. To book an appointment click the link below or call 119 - all over 18s are eligible.
