This discussion, featuring AFSP’s chief medical officer Dr. Christine Yu Moutier and moderated by The Washington Post’s Marian Liu, will focus on how AFSP’s national network of chapters and beyond can support the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, particularly in the face of discrimination and stigma surrounding mental health experiences.

The latest in our series of #RealConvo Concerts, featuring interviews and performances with musicians who have addressed the topic of mental health in their work. This event features Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter Howard Hewett, known as the lead singer of Shalamar and for his esteemed solo recordings. This special #RealConvo Concert will be hosted by AFSP national board member Tony Cornelius, a veteran in television production, and founder of The Don Cornelius Foundation. Award-winning musician Wayne Linsey will be accompanying Howard on keyboards.

This special edition of Ask Dr. Jill, hosted by AFSP’s Vice President of Research Dr. Jill Harkavy-Friedman, features guest Tami D. Benton, M.D. (member of AFSP’s Scientific Council; Psychiatrist-in-Chief, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia; and Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Perelman School of Medicine at The University of Pennsylvania.) The two will discuss the topic of African American youth and mental health, taking live questions from the audience.
