Hi John,

Last week, one of the white supremacist anchors on Fox News went on live
TV to say I’m “not smart enough for a real job.”

Lots of folks have been asking me how I feel about this attack, how I deal
with moments like this, and what it’s been like being the target of the
GOP’s racist talking points.

I’ll be honest with you: It’s nothing surprising. For too long, Black
women in power have been attacked, harassed, name-called, and even worse.

Throughout our country’s history, white supremacists have tried to silence
us through belittling attacks, so it’s not shocking that Fox News is using
the same strategy to smear me and so many other women of color in
Congress.

Black women and girls don’t need media talking heads to validate our
intelligence, our expertise, or our labor. We see us. We got us. We love
us. And that’s enough.

Every attack made against me and my sisters in Congress is an urgent
reminder of how much work is still ahead of us to dismantle white
supremacy in our country. It’s also an affirmation of how terrified
Republicans are of the bold, progressive movement we’re building.

I am determined to continue pushing in our fight to transform our
politics, defend Black lives, and deliver transformative change to our
communities. But the harsh reality we face is that the attacks we’re
seeing right now are just a preview of the challenges we’re going to face
next year during our re-election campaign.

[ [link removed] ]Can you make a $5 donation right now to help us
mobilize against these attacks and every attack the GOP throws at our
movement? It’s important we show the GOP right now how many folks support
our fight for racial justice and real change in our politics.

Thank you for all of your support.

Your Congresswoman loves you,

Cori
