Working Together on Homeless and Affordable Housing Needs
On Sunday, Oct. 13, El Dorado County residents, elected officials and community organization leaders participated in a Town Hall on EDC's Un-housed and Affordable Housing Needs. * 2019 Point in Time (PIT) Count - What do we know about EDC's homeless?
* One EDC couple's journey from homelessness to purchasing their first home

Fire Insurance Forum, Oct. 24, 6-8pm
A bipartisan alliance to tackle this non partisan issue
A few months ago, the El Dorado County Democratic Party began community outreach to regional and state leaders in an effort to find solutions to the fire insurance emergency. Over the past few months, the EDC Democratic Party has been working with local and state political leaders on finding local, state, and federal solutions to address these fire risks. We have been working on finding solutions for the availability and cost of fire insurance for homeowners and the growing concern on the loss of property tax revenue to support essential services in our communities.

Our efforts have led to an upcoming October 24 town hall hosted by Assemblyman Kevin Kiley (from 6-8 pm) at Cameron Park Community Services District (2502 Country Club Drive, Cameron Park) with a panel of guests including Commissioner Ricardo Lara along with the El Dorado County Democratic and Republican Parties, the El Dorado County Chamber of Commerce,
El Dorado Hills Chamber of Commerce and the El Dorado County Association of Realtors. Our work has led to a bipartisan alliance to tackle this nonpartisan issue.

Commissioner Ricardo Lara and Assemblymember Kevin Kiley want to hear your questions regarding:
1) Questions to submit for Commissioner Lara
2) Solutions you propose in solving this crisis

Please send your questions and proposed solutions to EDC Democrats Chair, Josh Elder at [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]) . Josh will make sure that your questions &/or proposed solutions get submitted to Commissioner Lara and Assemblymember Kiley.

Also, please RSVP by emailing [email protected] ([link removed]) or calling his district office at 916-774-4430. Due to the high turnout expected at this event, please consider carpooling as parking will be limited.
