John -- You may have wondered, perhaps as temperatures in the Pacific Northwest broke records last week, why the United States can't get our act together to adequately address climate change.

Gerrymandering and voter suppression are two reasons why. These anti-democratic tactics silence the voices of people who want progress while elevating the voices of deluded extremists.

Just think about Texas Republicans blaming renewable energy sources for the deadly power grid failures in that state this winter. Now consider that those are the same politicians who are clamoring to restrict voting rights and gerrymander themselves into near-permanent majorities.

If we want to fight climate change, we must achieve democracy reform. Can you help us do it with a donation today, John.

The nonpartisan Brennan Center for Justice reports:

"The communities that are most vulnerable to environmental injustice are often the same ones targeted for voter suppression and gerrymandering. A democracy that is more responsive to the concerns of these communities -- and, more broadly, to the will of the American people -- will be better positioned to address the climate crisis."

It's true. As we head into a future more and more impacted by climate change, achieving democracy reform is a necessary step in order to lift the voices of those most impacted and pursue solutions that work for everyone.

Will you help us do it, John? This is a fight that will take all of us.
