YDA NATIONAL CONVENTION

Two years ago, the Young Democrats of America National Convention was held right here in downtown Indianapolis. The 2021 National Convention of the Young Democrats of America will take place August 11th through August 14th in Cincinnati, Ohio at the Westin Cincinnati (21 E 5th St, Cincinnati, OH 45202).

IYD is offering financial assistance for our delegates to the convention and has passed a delegate selection plan to ensure diversity goals are met. The deadline for the application is TODAY, July 12th. Can't attend in person? No worries! YDA is authorizing a limited hybrid model for general sessions of the National Convention. If you can attend in person, we will cover a one-night hotel stay and delegate registration fees for the convention.

Note: 25% of the delegation can attend virtually. That means only 8 members of Indiana's delegation can take advantage of this option. Otherwise, delegates must be checked in by 8 p.m. that Friday evening and are required to be present on Saturday for voting.

We are also excited that our very own IYD President, Arielle Brandy, will be running for YDA Secretary on the YDA Reimagined slate! We are excited by her team's platform and can't wait to send a full delegation to Ohio to support her!

Now that the 2021 Indiana Young Democrats State Convention is over, IYD President Arielle Brandy will be able to make appointments subject to a simple majority vote of the new IYD Executive Committee.
