John,
Tomorrow, President Biden will give a speech about voting rights in
Philadelphia – and he hasn't yet confirmed whether he will urge Congress
to pass the For the People Act. With the eyes of the nation on him, this
is a crucial moment to push the Act forward.
[ [link removed] ]Send Biden an urgent message demanding he pressure Congress to send the
For the People Act to his desk – before August 16th.

August 16th
On August 16th, the Census Bureau will deliver data to politicians who are
poised to redraw their voting districts for the next decade – and many of
them are already planning to manipulate these district lines to take power
out of the hands of the voters. By gerrymandering voting maps, politicians
will rig elections and choose their voters instead of the other way
around.
1 in 2 Americans live in states at risk of gerrymandered districts —
allowing politicians to stay in power regardless of what voters want. The
For the People Act would make gerrymandering illegal in all 50 states, but
only if it is signed into law by August 16th.
[ [link removed] ]Add your name right now to tell Biden he needs to give Congress a
deadline to pass the Act, before it’s too late to stop gerrymandering.
Biden promised voters that he would take decisive action to defend our
democracy – but he has barely mentioned the For the People Act. By signing
this petition, you'll show that the American people demand a true solution
to our endangered democracy, not empty promises.

We’re a month away from having half of America lose the power behind their
vote — there is no time to waste.
