Friend,

Being a member of the Republican Party, at times, sure can feel like being a passenger on a hijacked plane that's screaming toward the ground. If we can't get a decent pilot into the cockpit, it isn't going to end well for anyone.

Yesterday, Donald Trump gave a speech in which he insisted that the real American majority are his supporters.  I'm not sure whether this is just another lie or just another delusion; regardless, we know it isn't true.  The real American majority are actually reasonable people of goodwill, from both sides of the political spectrum, who for far too long have not been represented in Washington.

Country First aims to change that.  It's not crazy to expect our politicians to be reasonable, good, honest people who will seek collaboration and common ground on our behalf.  It's not crazy to expect leaders to put the country before their political party.  it's just not what we've come to expect.  And expecting better is the first step toward getting better.

Some of you have emailed me, worried that more people aren't speaking out the way I do.  They ask how it feels to be a lonely voice.  To that, I say, I know I'm not alone.  My voice may be lonely in Washington, but I know there are millions of Americans who recognize and respect the truth when they hear it.  This morning, I appeared on NBC's Meet the Press, and did just that:

You may be wondering what you can do after "expecting better."  Step 2 is to share this movement with other reasonable people of goodwill -- and that includes Republicans, Democrats, and Independents.  Particularly at this point in our nation's story, we sure do need each other!
