Sat, July 17: #StopCopCity Canvass!

City Council plans to lease 381 acres of forested land to the Atlanta Police Foundation to build a massive, privately-funded cop training facility!

Join us at Intrenchment Creek Park Saturday July 17 at 10:00 AM  (Bouldercrest Rd, Atlanta, GA 30316) as we canvass the neighborhoods directly surrounding the site!

If you can't attend the canvass, you can still help to #StopCopCity! Make your voice heard by calling in Tuesday July 13 4-7 PM @ 404-330-6066. Use the talking points at atldsa.org/stopcopcity/call!

Friday, July 16: Delegate Forum

In less than ONE MONTH, over a thousand DSA members elected as delegates will convene to set the direction of our organization for the next two years (and beyond)! Atlanta DSA's own delegates are hosting a forum to discuss Convention and answer members' questions.


Join us Friday, July 16th, at 6pm to be part of building a stronger DSA!

Sunday, July 18th at 7 PM: Chapter Info Session and Q&A

What is Atlanta DSA? Whether you just joined DSA, you’re a longtime member looking to get more involved, or you want to know whether DSA might be your political home, this info session and Q&A will be a chance to learn more about socialism and DSA and to get an overview of our chapter.

 

Next Saturday: July General Meeting - International Edition!

Join us for Atlanta DSA's monthly General Meeting! We will hear the latest from our chapter's campaigns and committees, discuss current events in the chapter, and debate and vote on resolutions. All members are encouraged to attend!

This GM, we'll be hosting Austin G from DSA's NPC, to report on the International Committee's recent diplomatic visits to Peru and Venezuela. He will present on the International Committee's ongoing efforts to build relationships with socialist movements in the global south, along with the role we can play to fight US imperialism.

The meeting will be held at Park Ave Baptist Church, 486 Park Ave SE, Atlanta, GA 30312, USA. A hybrid format is available to those who cannot attend in person.

The agenda will be available at https://atldsa.org/agenda approximately 1 week before the meeting.

The deadline to submit resolutions will be this Wednesday (July 14) night, at midnight.

 

Eat, Drink and be Marxist - July 31

At the end of this month we'll be having our next Eat, Drink, and be Marxist social at the Georgia Beer Garden! We'll be starting at 8 PM.
