People For Member,

Last week the far-right majority on the Supreme Court launched their
latest attack on the Voting Rights Act, undermining another key section of
the landmark legislation that has protected voters – in particular, voters
of color -- for more than 50 years. But we're fighting back!

reconvenes on Monday. Demand that Congress prioritize passage of the John
Lewis Voting Rights Act, which would update and restore strength to the
VRA >>

When Congress returns from their holiday recess, we'll be pushing hard for
them to move on this important bill to help save our democracy. Make sure
your signature is included.

Thanks for all you do.

People For Member,

The Supreme Court just issued its most destructive opinion of the term,
saving it for the term’s last day.

In a 6-3 decision written by radical anti-democracy ideologue Justice
Alito, the far-right majority on the Court gutted the Voting Rights Act
EVEN FURTHER than the Roberts Court had already done.

This new ruling in Brnovich v. DNC, which erodes Section 2 of the VRA by
validating racist voter suppression policies in Arizona, opens the door
for similar voter suppression across the country and creates even more
opportunity for the Far Right to deny voters their rights – including by
misleading them about how and where to cast their ballot!

There has never been more urgency for the federal government to enact
reforms like the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the For the People Act,
which would go a long way in stopping the harm being done to voters both
by far-right policymakers in the states and far-right justices on our High
Court.

The John Lewis Voting Rights Act, specifically, would update and restore
strength to the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

PLEASE ADD YOUR NAME TODAY:

the John Lewis Voting Rights Act! >>

This fight to save our democracy belongs to all of us, and we cannot back
down.

We need to seize the opportunity we have right now to secure the right to
vote against constant attacks by the Far Right.

Thank you for everything you do.

Ben Jealous, President
