Bipartisan Legislation Supports Local Distilleries 

This week, Governor DeSantis signed a bipartisan bill that empowers local craft distilleries to compete with the large distilleries that have dominated the market for decades. The legislation is a big win for our small business community as it lifts arbitrary sale caps, eliminates outdated regulations, and encourages in-state production. Click here to read more about the bill.

 

 


 

U.S. Capitol Police Open Field Office in Tampa

On Wednesday, the U.S. Capitol Police announced they were opening a field office in Tampa Bay to combat the rise of home-grown extremism. According to the USCP, Florida and California are where most threats are coming from; the newly established field offices will allow authorities to swiftly address potential threats. Click here to read more.

 

 


 

Officials End the Search for Survivors in Surfside

 

Local officials in Surfside have announced the search for survivors in the tragic condo collapse has concluded. According to Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava, the effort has shifted from rescue to recovery. There are currently 90 confirmed casualties, while upward of 40 remain missing. Our hearts break for everyone impacted by this horrible tragedy. If you would like to support the families of Surfside, click here.

 

 


 

Tampa Bay Lightning Win Stanley Cup

Ending with some positive news, the Tampa Bay Lightning are your 2021 Stanley Cup Champions! The Bolts defeated the Montreal Canadians in just five games, capturing their third cup since 2004. Now, we just need the Rays to win the World Series. 

 

 


 

Team Andrew is Organizing a Back-to-School Drive

Just a reminder that now through August 10, we are accepting donated school supplies for low-income children and families in Hillsborough County. All donations can be dropped off at 6152 Delancey Station Street #205, Riverview, FL.
