This week, Trump-appointed U.S. District Judge J.P. Boulee slapped down progressives' injunction to stop Georgia's racist new law restricting access to the ballot box. Now the local GOP is free to take ballot drop boxes off the street, require registered voters to show government ID just to vote absentee, and make it a crime for churches to pass out food and water on election day.
 
Mitch McConnell fast-tracked Boulee's nomination in the Senate because he knew this time would come. Now, Georgia— a state that flipped both its Senate seats blue and came out strong for Joe Biden in 2020— is in serious trouble. It's only a matter of time before our progress is erased by Mitch McConnell and the Republican-lead state legislature.
   
We've got to act fast. When Democrats Turn Out is building a nationwide grassroots campaign to demand that the Senate swiftly pass the For the People Act, and expand voter protections for good.
 
Progressives everywhere have a responsibility to rid the courts of Mitch McConnell's partisan politicking and Donald Trump's autocratic agenda.
