Dear John,
Today we began a new parliamentary session - with the same problems as the last one: a government with no majority, no leadership and a disastrous Brexit plan for our country.
I used my speech in Parliament today to give a warning to my fellow MPs.
Whether it’s a hard or a soft Brexit, whether it comes with a blue rosette or a red rosette, whether it is delivered by the Prime Minister or the Leader of the Opposition, no form of Brexit will be good for our country.
In my speech today, I also made a promise to the country.
If we win a general election outright, we will stop Brexit and turn our attention to building more homes, improving education for our children, properly funding our NHS, and putting in emergency measures to address the climate crisis.
I am ambitious for my party and for our country. The Liberal Democrats are preparing to go into a general election and win it. And make no mistake, a general election is coming.
Will you join our growing party, and be part of fighting for this future? Will you join the Liberal Democrats today and help us demand better?

Thank you.
We are embarking on the fight of our lives: to stop Brexit to build an open, fair and inclusive country, based on our liberal values. With your help, I truly believe we will achieve something special.
With best wishes,
Jo
Jo Swinson
Leader of the Liberal Democrats
