John -- Writing the Supreme Court's majority decision in two voter suppression cases decided last week, Justice Samuel Alito had a lot to say about fraud.
"Fraud can affect the outcome of a close election, and fraudulent votes dilute the right of citizens to cast ballots that carry appropriate weight."
-- Justice Alito |
There's only one problem with that: Voter fraud is so rare as to be virtually nonexistent. But Republicans have been pretending for years that it's a big problem so they have an excuse to pass legislation to restrict the freedom to vote! (Remember how Donald Trump wouldn't -- still won't -- shut up about it?)
Now the Supreme Court has used LIES about voter fraud to justify upholding two voter suppression laws from Arizona and give Republicans the go-ahead to pass even more.
We think it's a travesty -- but we want to know how folks from DC feel about it, John. Will you take our quick survey on voter suppression and so-called "voter fraud?"
