Cook Political Report, one of the top elections forecasters, rated Cheri Beasley’s race for North Carolina’s open Senate seat a true toss up.

In fact, this is one of only two races they’ve rated as toss ups in the entire country.

That’s right: North Carolina is one of the best two pickup opportunities for Democrats in 2022. That is huge!

Mitch McConnell is doing whatever he can to retake the Senate and stop Democrats from making progress on the issues that matter most — like health care, climate change and the minimum wage. But if we flip this seat, then there’s no chance that Republicans retake the majority.

Cheri’s candidacy and track record are why our state is in play for Democrats. She’s spent every day for decades serving the people of North Carolina as judge and then Chief Justice, and she’s the only person running for this seat who has won statewide twice.

Cheri has won before because she knows how to earn voters’ support in tough areas and turn out voters who have felt ignored and left behind. That’s exactly how we’ll win this race, too.
