Hundreds of thousands of names have been purged from voter registration rolls across the country this year by GOP-lead state legislatures who want to make sure that our historic turnout for Joe Biden will never be repeated.
Hillary Clinton says they've been at it for years.
“We are witnessing a concerted attempt to destabilize the democratic process and delegitimize our multi-racial democracy, carried out in full view of the American people,” Clinton wrote in her latest op-ed for Democracy Docket.
The 2016 popular vote -- which Hillary Clinton carried by nearly three million ballots -- made it abundantly clear that, were it not for Republicans' authoritarian efforts to curb turnout in key states, the disastrous Trump era would have never happened.
But we learned our lesson, and our grassroots movement is rallying against the GOP's assault on the ballot box. Together, we are fighting to:
1) Pass the revolutionary For the People Act in the Senate, which will expand voting rights, drain dirty money out of politics, and curb partisan gerrymandering;
2) Organize against the right-wing white supremacist mob gunning to suppress our most vulnerable voices, especially people of color and low-income families;
3) And support strong progressives who will fight for our values where it matters most.
There is no alternative here. We've got to support progressives who can get the job done. When Democrats Turn Out was founded with that exact goal in mind, but it will never become a reality without your support. Now, it's up to you.
