Friend,

Today is the day. In Austin, lawmakers in the legislature will begin debating the Republican voter suppression bill. This is our last chance to block it.

Thanks to YOU we were able to stop SB7 in its tracks. You spoke up, supported our work, and had the backs of Democrats in the legislature who blocked the bill successfully.

We’re counting on you again. Can you contribute $5, $10, or whatever you can afford to support our efforts to fight voter suppression in Texas? [[link removed]]

This bill is as bad as it gets. It ends drive thru voting and 24-hour voting, adds new restrictions on absentee voting, and empowers partisan poll watchers to interfere in our elections.

Republicans have changed this bill a dozen times behind closed doors. They tried to restrict Sunday voting and polling hours, then said it was a typo. They tried to let judges overturn elections without evidence, then said they have no idea where that provision came from.

Let’s be clear: they’re LYING.

This bill is nothing more than a weaponization of Trump’s big lie to benefit themselves and stay in office. Republican lawmakers, including our governor and lieutenant governor, want to keep lining their pockets and ignoring the problems facing Texans.

If you don’t want to see voting rights under assault in Texas, join us in fighting back against this bill. Pitch in what you can to support our work and have Texas Democrats’ backs.

Thank you for your support,

Julián
