John,
Expanding Medicare and lowering prescription drug prices are within reach, this year.
In the next couple of months, Congress will vote on a budget reconciliation package that will NOT be subject to the filibuster. And the details are being negotiated right now.
We’re fighting for:
-
Adding benefits for hearing, dental and vision, and capping out-of-pocket costs
-
Lowering the eligibility age from 65 to 60, giving millions of seniors coverage immediately
-
Lowering prescription drug prices by letting Medicare bargain with pharmaceutical corporations
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senator Bernie Sanders, the Chair of the Senate Budget Committee, want to include Medicare expansion in this larger package. But they need our help to create massive public support.
Chip in today to tell Congress that the American people love Medicare and want it expanded to cover more people and include more services!
Check out Michael’s email below for more details on what that will include and why we won’t need a single Republican vote for it to pass.
Thanks,

John,
If Democrats play their cards right, we can expand Medicare THIS YEAR.
That means:
-
Including hearing, dental and vision benefits, and capping out-of-pocket costs
-
Lowering the eligibility age from 65 to 60
-
Enabling Medicare to negotiate lower prices for prescription drugs
Seniors need hearing aids, dentures and glasses. Right now, they’re forced to buy private insurance plans at outrageous markups to get coverage. But we could do it with Medicare!
Social Security Works is working with allies on Capitol Hill to make sure that Medicare expansion is included in the package that Democrats are crafting right now. But we need your support to get it across the finish line. Can you chip in $7 today?
In the next couple of months, Democrats will pass a package through the ‘budget reconciliation process’―which means it won’t be subjected to the filibuster in the Senate, and can thus pass with a simple majority. That means we can expand Medicare THIS YEAR without Republican obstruction.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer is working with Senator Bernie Sanders to include Medicare expansion in the package, but it’s not a sure thing. Yet.
We can’t let Congress pass up this chance to expand and improve Medicare! Chip in $7 today!
Thanks,
