• Wisconsin Republican Rep. Glenn Grothman introduced a bill Friday [June 16] that would ban Washington, D.C. public schools from teaching critical race theory  –  a controversial doctrine that assumes systematic racism is a defining feature of U.S. history and society. Grothman said that critical race theory teaches children "to hate each other and hate their country." "In other words, students being taught that they are defined by the color of their skin, not the content of their character," he said in a statement. Congressional lawmakers have the jurisdiction to enact laws that affect the nation’s capital, as D.C. is not a state.

And it's important now to get those Americans who are still [a]live their appropriate retirement benefits.” Congressman Grothman introduced the bill, the Air America Act, in February that would grant pilots involved eligibility for federal retirement benefits. It currently has more than 100 cosponsors. In May, it unanimously passed the House Committee on Oversight and Reform. “I was able to work with Rep. Carolyn Maloney, D-New York who was the chairman of the committee,” said Grothman. “It's good to work in a bipartisan fashion.”

• Sixth District Congressman Glenn Grothman has introduced “Dillon’s Law” in the U.S. House of Representatives. The bill, authored by the Republican from Glenbeulah, will incentivize states to allow “good Samaritans” to save lives by allowing them to use existing federal grant money for preventative health services to train individuals to carry and administer epinephrine. As you may know, the bill was inspired by Mishicot native Dillon Mueller, who tragically passed away in 2014 at the age of 18.  Dillon was stung by a bee and slipped into a coma from anaphylaxis, unable to receive epinephrine in a timely manner.
